Discovery Space Season

Set of idents for the Discovery Space Season. Built all the scenes in Cinema 4D and After Effects at BDA. The logo was designed by Andrew Olley.
Family Guy Top 20

More titles for another documentary unveiling the top Family Guy characters. This time following a comic route. A “Family Guy Annual” was created to showcase the characters, then the flickbook effect seen was used throughout the programme in stings and chapterheads.

Eastenders Revealed

This is less the pitch, and more the 3D work I did for Eastenders Revealed for BBC Three. The original pitch was more stylized than this, white with the odd spot colour, but we decided eventually to go for a ‘model’ look, in full colour but still maintaining a feeling that it wasn’t meant to be real. You can see the titles here. Below are some frames from the model that I built in Cinema 4D.

Hai Karate!

This CBBC series followed a group of children as they learnt Karate in Japan. The graphics are part of a kit of graphics that slot into the opening sequence. I designed the titles using green screen footage from Japan, combined with Cinema 4D and After Effects. All graphics were delivered in HD.
Eastenders Revealed

The BBC Three series of documentaries that follow the big Eastenders storylines needed a new look, which is this. The whole thing is designed to look like a model of the set. The model was made in Cinema 4D with all the footage composited in After Effects. I’ve also tagged onto the end a boardgame I designed for the programme graphics.
There’s more about the model here
One Man and His Dog

One Man and His Dog makes a comeback, and I learnt a lot about something I previously knew very very little about. A great project to be involved in. I designed, directed, and composited these titles, which included location shooting and green screen, all delivered in HD.
Transmission Impossible

I thought it would be interesting to put up some frames from the original pitch board for
Transmission Impossible. If you click on the pics you can see that a few ideas and designs changed during the development. It was felt the logo was too similar to another show, and also the nature of the sequence was bound to change to do with the footage we had, and the green screen footage we shot (I didn’t realise a cactus can’t do a high five!). The final titles are in the project section here.

MTV: Sarah Harding

Another of the MTV 24 hours series, this time following Sarah Harding.
MTV: Daisy Lowe

The second titles for in the continuing series of MTV “24 hours” films.
Harpers Island

A BBC Three documentary on the American horror/whodunnit series.
Transmission Impossible

Titles for the summer run of a new Saturday morning series. Under tight budget this involved designing the balloon in 3D, storyboarding, directing the green screen shoot, and compositing the titles.
Two Pints of Lager…

Titles for a documentary about the series ending cliffhanger, for Two Pints of Lager and a
Packet of Crisps. The whole narrative of the programme was based around this fairytale theme.
Mark Knopfler

The International TV campaign for the latest Mark Knopfler album.
Family Guy Titles

Using footage shot, along with the artwork, the titles had to reflect the atmosphere of the programme, and show a “behind the scenes” kind of feel for this documentary on the comedy Family Guy.
Little Noise

A series of concerts televised by Channel 4.
Pete Doherty in 24 Hours
This is the inital board for the MTV titles (click the image to view). The brief required the sequence to tell the story of the show in the form of a pop up book. As the process developed, so did the logo and the narrative, but this inital look was the basis of the titles for this, and the following series. From this 5 programmes have been designed in the same style of which I have designed or directed all 5.
